A mix of ping pong, tennis, badminton and a few quirky rules (“Stay out of the kitchen!”), pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world and is fun for all ages and abilities – even if you think you’re “not athletic."
Pickleball's smaller court is less than half the size of a tennis court so it’s easier on your joints, lungs and heart. But the competition and laughs are great medicine, and you’ll work up a sweat!
We provide paddles and balls so you can get hooked on the sport before you buy your own. And we'll teach you to play, no charge!
Pickleball is part of the full club membership, but if you wish to only play pickleball, you'll find an application on the Membership page.
Do you play a social game where frame shots are laughed off? A fierce game where every point is a battle to be won? Perhaps both on different days? You’ll fit right in!
Most of the time the courts are first-come, first-serve for adults, and we have Mixed Up Mixed Doubles on Tuesday and Friday evenings plus Sunday morning doubles play - great ways to meet other players to set up your own singles and doubles play and to find partners for our tournaments.
You can also arrange for individual or group instruction from our pros.
And visit our Calendar for information on our free clinics for members.
We welcome new members to the Lake Mohawk Tennis Club with its lighted courts, social deck, kitchen and game room. Started by Lake Mohawk residents over 45 years ago, we are a not-for-profit club run entirely by volunteers.
Our season begins as soon as the snow melts and it’s warm enough for the balls to bounce, and lasts as long as you wish! Nets are up year-round. We’ve even seen members playing on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and those few mild January and February days.
We encourage an atmosphere of respect and good sportsmanship. Our club is a place where players can enhance their abilities, no matter what skill level, building friendships along the way.
We hope you'll play with us!
